The legislation expands proven programs to allow for residential builders and non-profits to work with their local units of government to create workforce housing in their communities.

The bills were largely driven by the Housing Michigan Coalition led by the Grand Rapids Chamber alongside key bi-partisan legislators such as Grand Rapids area’s own Senator Brinks and statewide partners including the Michigan Municipal League, Home Builders Association of Michigan, and Housing North.
