A LOT has happened since the Community Conversation (See Press Release for more details ):
Ottawa Housing Next has become Housing Next!
A vision and mission statement has been crafted (Mission Statement).
A Leadership Council has formed.
Funding has been secured for a five year pilot and,
A job description has been released for a full time Director to implement the four Housing Next strategies described in the press release.
A Special Thank You to the Work Groups!
Nearly 100 people participated in work groups over the course of the last two years. Without your commitment to identifying strategies to increase affordable housing, Ottawa County would not be poised to unlock market-driven solutions to make workforce housing affordable for all in the greater Ottawa County region. The principles and leverage points identified by the design team and work groups lay the groundwork for the next, action oriented phase of the effort.
While the work groups have completed the Action Plan, your job isn't done! The Leadership Council will rely on your on-going input as needed through a Community Advisory Panel to ensure the solutions are responsive to the needs of the broader community.
